La Union Son Directs Internationally-Acclaimed Documentary
Written by PIA- La Union

La Union has another favorite son in Mark Lester Valle, the director of an internationally-acclaimed documentary film “Walang Rape sa Bontok.”

A native of central west in Bauang town, Valle goes back to his home bringing local and international citations after directing “Walang Rape sa Bontok”- a docu-film that revolves around two women who were sexually violated and in search for a rape-less society like that of old Bontoc in the Cordilleras.

Valle graduated in elementary at the Felkris Academy and at Saint Louis College in highschool, both schools in this city. He then took up BS Geology at the University of the Philippines in Baguio City.

“My childhood memories are purely in Bauang,” said Valle. Admittedly, he said he did not finish his college education because he turned to a different path like film making. He became part of the Habi Collective Media which gave birth to Walang Rape sa Bontok.
